Forest Garden

The project is a food-producing garden designed based on the forest ecosystem model. It consists of large trees (walnut, linden, horse chestnut, chestnut, oak, black locust, birch, ...), small trees (cherry, serviceberry, apple, pear, medlar, peach, apricot, fig, persimmon, ...), and shrubs (blackcurrant, blueberry bushes, currant bushes, hazelnut bushes, ...). Perennial vegetables, herbs, and flowers are interplanted with the trees, and together they form an agrosystem. This composition enhances plant resilience while reducing the workload for gardeners. A workshop (for storage, tools, and an office) is located on the property. The structure is built of wood and straw bales. The workshop’s energy self-sufficiency is ensured by rainwater collection tanks, a solar panel, and a wood-burning stove. A bioclimatic greenhouse with an adobe wall and a wooden gazebo will also be built. This project is an experiment in a self-organized commune aimed at upholding collective rights while ensuring the sustainable management of resources within an Ostromian paradigm.
